Post Event

Woo... not at all in trouble by the new releases or the event!

Feeple65 Siean

I do like the new F65, she's great and I love the idea of the sword, but I don't like her enough to get her. I still want to see if they make a chicline-esque Lishe face and then I'll be getting an F65. (I don't mind the Chloe either, in some of her owner pics, but I don't like the Roke).

I'm not a fan of either of the LTF - Chiwoo has never been one of my favourites and considering there are a number of fullsets of the Chiwoo already I wonder why they have chosen to do him again instead of creating a new boy. Plus I'm not a fan of the Rolly. She looks quite a bit like the MNF Rena, who I also don't like, and I'm not a fan of her teeth. I have three LTF with teeth (my BAs have teeth) but their open mouth is a lot more subtle than hers, no offence to the poor LTF Rolly. But regardless, if you have seen photos of my LTFs you will have realised they all look a bit too young for my tastes.

As for the multiheads... as someone put it on DoA - why do Multiheads when Pukifees are way more popular?? I also think they've misnamed them - the boy is OBVIOUSLY a Bonnie why the girl looks nothing like a Bonnie - and I bet she would be the "Zefi". They're cute enough, but I've done the Multihead thing before - I dislike the proportions on the Pukifee body and I've just sold my two who were on Puki bodies simply because they just didn't seem right.

As for the Event items - I like the F65 sword, but it's a little impractical. I'm a little frustrated that Fairyland keep doing MNF Juris - this will be the third MNF Juri they've done and I was really hoping that they may have either done a new face or have VE-ed one of the older faces (such as a Lishe). While the Juri looks nice enough, I'm not particularly interested in her.

The VE Rolly and Chiwoo don't interest me for the above reasons and again I'm disappointed they haven't VE-ed older sculpts such as the Lishe and the El. (I'm also annoyed that they keep repeating the Chiwoo when I'm sure a LOT of people want them to re-fullset the Lishe and the El... it would be nice if they had 3 fullsets and VE faceplates...)

The Pukifee Juri will be cute, I'm sure, but they've committed a strange error there - they would have been better off creating a Multihead event gift since some people MAY buy the Multihead fullsets to get the outfits and the Juri faceplate planning on placing it on the Pukifee body you get - but Multiheads have different head backs to PKF, due to the LARGE size difference in the head and Fairyland don't sell headbacks separately for any size.

There are going to be a lot of buyers looking for Pukifee headbacks so they can use their Juri faceplates - is FL prepared to sell them separately??

Anyway, that's my thoughts on the present event and event items. I don't know whether or not I'll like the Juri Pukifee - I'm not a massive fan of the Juri face although it is cute. Otherwise, I'm home clear!

Events

I really like events, don't get me wrong - but when people say the words "Fairyland" and "event" in the same sentence, I have a chill of foreboding.

I have participated in a number of Fairyland's events. The first was the Pukifee event where every purchased Pukifee came with a pair of wings - which were very cute. Out of that event I got three Pukifee (and incidentally, a LTF.)

The second event I participated in I received 1 Scar MNF Head (Breakaway) and a lightning scar arm... and two LTF...

In the next I received a MNF Scar sleeping head and a lightning scar arm... in another a LTF BA faceplate, in another a 60cm scar arm and a chest piece... and in all I have purchased dolls... for the last it was a MNF body and 2 Pukifee...

I like events - I have even purchased event items like my VE Chloe head, post event. But events always mean money and more dolls and I have just started the process of purchasing a Feeple70 and a Pink Alice.

If you haven't heard, Fairyland is announcing its next event on Friday. It will at least involve 2 new LTF fullsets (as seen on their blog, looking like a Rix and a Rena or something similar) and a new Feeple65 (as stated on their website). It also involves a number of different event items which is running in the same system as previously, which means you will only be able to get one event item rather than 4 or 6.

What these event items are or what the amounts of money or new releases amount to, no one will know until Friday. The MNF thread on DoA are speculating about a VE Rheia... I'm dreading the possibility of a new Lishe in either Pukifee or F65.

I can always wish that the event items will not include something I really really want - or I can resign myself to spending more money to get more dolls. Either way, I can't wait for Friday, can you?

Boys!

I blogged a day too early!!

Two days ago, when I blogged, I was frustrated about the lack of arrivals at my home - well, now, with two arrivals in two days - I'm happy again!

Mithas arrived on Wednesday the 14th and Zeus' body made its appearance on the very next day!

Mithras was very exciting, he's my first tan and my second Chicline, so it was very enjoyable opening his box and pulling out all of his bits and pieces. I have quite an involved box opening on my flickr - I don't think I'll necessarily upload it to DoA - I might go have a look and see if there are any good owner pics of Fabilis' and if there isn't I might just upload him. (the box opening set is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/teapartyrevolution/sets/72157627543378731/)

He is a lovely tan, not without faults, but then given him being a tan skin, I expected those - he has lighter spots on his head/forehead, shoulder as well as in his joints and on his hands and wrists. I'm not massively disappointed, Fairyland put a large red warning all over his sale page, lol.

I am disappointed that I haven't managed to get the back of his pharaoh hat on his head at the same time as his Anubis head... I managed to get them both in the right place, but not in the right positions!

Now I just have to get them painted... And here is a shot of my nummy boy for your delection!
I'm not massively sure about his wig, since it's a bit puffy, but I don't think I want him bald with the mark on his forehead!

As for the other arrival, that was Zeus' body - my last LTF Breakaway has his body, pretty much to the day I received his faceplate! (His faceplate arrived on the 14th September 2010, his body on the 15th in 2011!)

So be on the look out for pics of my horrible three together (Hades, Poseidon and Zeus), as well as group shots of my LTF and pics of Mithras and Janus... I might even have to take a few photos which compare all three skintones by FL...

Zeus!

What's new...

Updates...

So I didn't make it clear on here, but I did end up being suckered into buying the Baby Pink Alice, she's on layaway along with a body for Arawn in a F70 Riff. (I'll probably get rid of the Riff head, I don't need the trouble of finding yet another F70 body when they're currently in such short supply). They probably won't arrive until November since I'm unlikely to pay them off earlier.

I got my shipping notice for Mithras last week and I'm currently wondering where on earth he is. His tracking hasn't been updated since the 7th, and he's being sent Express.... which means he should be here by now. (the 13th is pushing it).

I have also got Zeus' body coming, which is in the same boat as Mithras' - shipping hasn't updated and for a parcel being shipped EMS, it's being very slow!

I put in for another girl - but that information is over at my lished blog.

I've bought an Eliya head for Nox, so I'm waiting for that to arrive as well - her eyes, along with Pax's yesterday - and I inquired about a wig for her (and Pax) last night... and I just blew a bit of money on some outfits...

As for the other idea, I'm not put off yet - I've been looking around at customizers and actually found a customised Blythe that I like (matte skin)... but I can't get the original doll anyway... but apparently any of the same shape will look similar if customized in the same way. I haven't take the final punt yet and I'm not sure that I will until I have a bit more time between payments for BJDs.

Other dollies

So over the past week or so I have been feeling curious about Blythes. I have always meant to take a trip into the city to visit David Jones and check out what Blythes they have for sale - because how curious is that? A shop like David Jones selling dolls as cultish as Blythes. (I doubt any of them will ever hold BJDs).

But I will admit to a certain curiosity, so I have been having a look at Blythe shops on the internet and seeing what is available and today I found myself on eBay having a look at what Blythes I can get for what prices. I even signed up for two Blythe forums...

This is a very strange place for me to find myself in. I still prefer BJDs over Blythes, but I don't think I'd mind all that much if I owned a Blythe or two.

So I have decided there are a few I like. All of them are full sized Neo Blythes and all (except one) have a similar look. Now I have to decide - do I get myself one??
