New things

So what's happening currently, since I haven't been updating here for a little while:

  1. Emmeline has arrived! W00t! She looks fantastic, other than her lack of shoes (I need to find a pair of white boots for her, so if you know any likely candidates, please tell me!) and next to Violet and Angelu she looks great. I'd need to find the super rare MSD Alice head to complete my Pipos Alice collection, but I don't think I would manage it and I doubt I would have the money to pay for it. It's a nice thought though - a complete Pipos Alice collection ... mmm... Lol. (but then there would possibly be an argument for attempting to find one of the 2 Pipos Baby Dark Alices, which is virtually impossible!!)
  2. Been updating The Resin Fables a fair amount recently with Sol's introductions of his family and various other members of the household - its always amusing as he isn't always flattering.
  3.  Considering a new addition to the family, but considering the sculpt, it won't be discussed here!!
  4. Coming up to the final payment for Mithras... but no where near the end of 90 day waiting period for him :( (that's up on the 23rd of September!!). That of course does not include the possible extra 20 days because Fairyland is overworked. *sigh* Coming up to the last payment on my body, so the body dilemma I've been having (read about it here Lished )
  5. Pax is heading back from having her eyes opened - and she looks fantastic! I've picked out the colours for her eyes and possibly the faceup artist that I'll get to do her makeup. I also might have a way to get a head for Nox, which would be cool, because I could get them similar faceups - I've already picked Nox's eyes as well, although not her wig. Pax is also making me keep looking for a body for her, although all the ones I've seen on the MP are small busts, and Pax doesn't want that. But then she really needs to get to the back of the line, as I've got to get Arawn, Hades, Zeus and Veja bodies as well this year!

Updates and spectulation

News first...

  1. Pallus is BACK! Woo! He finally has the right face and the colour difference between his body and his hooves, while still there isn't noticeable enough for me to get all het up about again (plus I don't think I can be bothered).
  2. Argus was put up for sale the other day. I liked the newer wig on him, but I think he needs to be in a home with a softskin who will love him more than I do.
  3. I paid off Emmeline - hopefully she'll be around soon!

Now for the fun stuff. If you've been down to Fairyland's blog lately you might have noticed they've put up some teasers for the Victoria Frances Doll Project which will be displayed at the San Diego Comic Con - which makes it a damn shame there is nothing big enough on BJDs in Australia to invite CP/Fairyland to. I think Australia needs either a Doll convention - a PROPER Modern Doll convention (you'd have to include Blythes/Pullips/Dals just to make it fair and add the numbers) or to convince something like Supernova (or SMASH - but that's Sydney based) that they need to explore (and invite) some serious BJD companies to add to their already fantastic convention.

Anyway. There is little to no information on this girl, which means of course that speculation is rife. The body shape is wrong for the Chicline and the F65 (not busty enough, lol!), she's too big to be LTF (and too feminine). However, this is where it gets blurry - the shoulder caps suggest F70 (or Delf, but we don't need to go into THAT), but her limbs, especially her legs, don't suggest that at all; in fact, her proportions (and mag hands/elbow joints) suggest a MNF. Her face is a bit too classic CP for her to be around the 50-60cm frame, surely...

What do you think?? (Thank you CP/Fairyland for all the beautiful photos!)
proportions suggest MNF

Shoulder caps, neck, torso suggest SD/F70....

But whatever she is, as usual, she is beautiful!

Goodbye

Well, today I put Li Na up for sale. She's just not doing it for me anymore and so I hopefully will be able to find her a better home with someone else.

I don't think it will be long before Argus follows her. He also is just sitting there (although Sol's old wig looks a lot better on him than the one he had been wearing!)

to sell or not to sell... that is the question

It seems strange to me not to feel attached to a doll. I have a number of dolls (many will have noticed) that I am very attached to. I love them and I tend to take masses of photos of them. Occasionally, very occasionally, I have dolls I love as much but I don't take as many photos of. This can be because it is more difficult to get good poses or different looks since they are fullset dolls.

Then there are the dolls that I have a lot of trouble with. I had this conversation in my blog before over the now sold Hyperion and Theia, my multihead Pukis who I weren't feeling all that attached to. I sold both of them and feel much better for it.

Now I have the eerie feeling I need to sell two more of my dolls. One of these I am fairly certain of: Li Na.

I liked her when I saw the first pictures of her, she was great, cute and small and looked adorable. I didn't realise that there was very little you could do with her. Her arms aren't long enough to do any good poses and she doesn't stand. I find it very hard to photograph her, and I haven't found her a wig. So my fullset dragon baby will be going up for sale.

The other is Argus. I loved him when I first saw him on the Angelheim site and now I'm looking at him and wondering why he's there. I will try him in a new wig before I decide that he's really going to go, as I really don't like the wig he has now, but I'm not sure if that will save him. I will take some shots of him tonight for my ADAD of him with a different wig and we'll see. But he might go...

Hard decisions...

The Slow-down: 2016-2019

Wow. I used to collect a lot, and now, I don't do a lot of collecting at all. My collection has slowed to a crawl - some of it is prob...
